Remote Sensing (ISSN 2072-4292) is a peer-reviewed open access journal about the science and application of remote sensing technology, and is published semimonthly online by MDPI. The Remote Sensing Society of Japan (RSSJ) and the Japan Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (JSPRS) are affiliated with Remote Sensing, and their members receive a discount on the article processing charge.
  • Open Access—free for readers, with article processing charges (APC) paid by authors or their institutions.
  • High Visibility: indexed by the Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science), Scopus (2019 CiteScore: 6.1), Ei Compendex, and other databases.
  • Rapid Publication: manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision provided to authors approximately 16.4 days after submission; acceptance to publication is undertaken in 2.6 days (median values for papers published in this journal in the second half of 2020).
  • Recognition of Reviewers: reviewers who provide timely, thorough peer-review reports receive vouchers entitling them to a discount on the APC of their next publication in any MDPI journal, in appreciation of the work done.
